- To adminster and coordinate research activities
- To develop and enhance research culture
- To liaise with the Centre of Excellence in the Kulliyyahs in search of research opportunities and funding
- To disseminate research findings to relevant parties
- To organise seminars on the presentation of research findings
- To organise joint programmes with other bodies outside the Centre
- To provide funding for interdisciplanary research
