GranuMas™

In Collaboration with:

IIUM-SIRIM-USM-MINT-UKM-MOSTI

GranuMas ™ is an osteoconductive granular synthetic bone graft material based on calcium phosphate hydroxyapatite. It is an excellent alternative material for the repair of bone defects due to its chemical composition being similar to the mineral phase of human bone. It is also chemically similar to the hydroxyapatite that is currently being used clinically as a bioactive coating on many surgical and dental implants such as in the Dental, ENT, Orthopaedics and Maxillofacial specialties.

This product has gone through extensive biocompatibility and safety evaluation and has also demonstrated excellent biofunctionality in clinical trials and successfully screened through various in vitro and in vivo tests, which were all conducted with the collaboration of respectable institutions of higher learning in Malaysia. . Its highly osteoconductive properties promotes good callus formation and the subsequent healing of bone defects.

Roman Transliteration of Arabic Transcript(ROTAS ™)

ROTAS™ is a utility software, designed mainly for academic purposes, that lets a writer/researcher automatically or manually transliterate text from Arabic into English, using the writing-based model of the Arabic orthography. It provides a set of fonts that are fully Unicode complaint. Anyone using Microsoft Office 2000 or later can read a text, composed with ROTAS fonts, undistorted, even without having ROTAS™  fonts.

Transliteration is a skill that requires special expertise, particularly in the rules of Romanization. To enhance and accelerate the transliteration process, ROTAS™ provides a technique that requires no knowledge of the rules of Romanization, though knowledge of the Arabic grammar will improve the transliteration accuracy.

Enhanced Amaryllis Specialist Dental Module Software

Development Collaboration Product

IIUM and Amaryllis Sdn Bhd has agreed to collaborate for the enhancement of  the base AMARYLLIS software product. The development will include 7 dental specialist modules (Periodontics, Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Restorative Surgery, Oral Pathology/Oral Medicine, Pediatrics and Forensics) to be specially designed for application in dental schools and dental specialist surgeries.

Another collaboration is in the creation of an innovative software, acronym as “DIET” (Dental Instruction, Evaluation and Training System).  This system will utilize digital and imaging techniques in evaluating dental student’s simulation and clinical operative techniques. This would allow our local dental faculties to be in the league of globally-known dental faculties which are using similar solutions.
